Thangmeiband Constituency MLA Khumukcham Joykisan joins JD (U)

MLA of Thangmeiband Assembly Constituency Khumukcham Joykisan on Wednesday join Janata Dal-United (JDU) ahead of the 12th state Assembly Elections schedule on 27th February and 3rd March.
Kh.Joykisan was welcomed by the Lok Sabha MP cum JDU Manipur in-Charge Ramprit Mandal.
Reliable Sources said the formal reception ceremony will be graced by JDU National President Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) who will arrive in Imphal on Thursday.
Kh. Joykisan was suspended by the Indian National Congress (INC), Manipur Unit last week.
JDU is in power in alliance with the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) in Bihar with Nitish Kumar as the Chief Minister.

Earlier there was a speculation from different sources that Joykishan is likely to switch to BJP or NPP. Even a highly placed source in BJP expresses optimism that he would join BJP.
The Manipur assembly polls would be held in two phases - February 27 and March 3 - to elect 60 legislators, for which contesting parties and candidates have stepped up canvassing mostly in the valley districts that house 40 seats.
