In an awful incident, a ripe paddy field of around 1 hector of land, belonging to a poor farmer was set ablaze by some unknown miscreants at Senjam Khunou Koutruk road.
Taorem Shyamsunder (68 yrs ) and Taorem (o) Ahanbi year (58yrs) of Senjam Khunou, Koutruk road, rattled into the hardest moment when on November 10th morning at around 5:am, found their ripe paddy completely burnt to ashes.
Devastatingly, their efforts and struggles for a long period disappeared just in a single moment which shattered their hope and spirit.

Shyamsunder and Ahanbi cultivated a paddy field of around 1 hector land harvesting 100 tin of paddy annually on-lend system. The owner of the paddy is Inaocha Taorem of Senjam Khunou.
The couple has reported that they have no source of income and solely depend on the paddy cultivation while the -annual harvest is their only livelihood.

Extremely devastated and tears in her eyes, Ahanbi while speaking to media persons today at her residence said that they had spent a huge amount of money and manpower, apart from many other miscellaneous grievances throughout the year while cultivating the paddy; she denounces the miscreants who have committed such heinous crimes to the innocent farmers, whose livelihood depends solely on annual harvesting. "What crime we have done to witness such incident?" asked Ahanbi.
"We had completely lost our consciousness in the early morning thinking about the loss we have incurred after awaiting its harvest for long," said Ahanbi.
Condemning such inhumane incidents, the poor farmer wishes the miscreants who committed such heinous crimes to be punished according to the law and appealed the concerned authority to take up necessary actions.
