As part of Union Budget outreach programme, Finance Minister on a 4-day visit to Sikkim from today

Union minister of finance and corporate affairs Nirmala Sitharaman will be in Sikkim on a four-day visit from Monday.

The Minister is scheduled to attend a post-Budget Interactive Session at Chintan Bhawan in Gangtok where she will give the keynote address on the salient features of the Union Budget 2023-24 followed by interaction with the representatives of trade & industry in Sikkim such as the Sikkim Chamber of Commerce, tax professionals, corporates, various associations, entrepreneurs etc.

The event will also be attended by senior officials of CGST, Income Tax, Banking Sector and other departments of Government of Sikkim.

The other engagements during the visit of the Minister includes interaction with students of Sikkim University on the Union Budget; flagging off of various programmes of NABARD along with cheque distribution to the various beneficiaries; interaction with the people at Lachen Dzumsa, Mangan; virtual inauguration of EDI System at Nagrakata Land Customs Station and Kulkuli Land Customs Station from Panitanki LCS.
