AAP to back opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha in Presidential election 2022

After a political advisory committee (PAC) meeting on July 15, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh announced that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) would endorse opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha in the presidential election.

Former Union Finance Minister Yaswant Sinha is competing against Droupadi Murmu, the nominee of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance, for the nation's top constitutional position.

The Presidential Election is scheduled on July 18 and the counting of votes will take place on July 21..

AAP has 10 Rajya Sabha MPs from the two states including three from Delhi. Also, the party has a total 156 MLAs including 92 in Punjab, 62 in Delhi and two in Goa.
