Delhi reported eight deaths from the coronavirus, the highest in nearly 180 days, and 2,146 new cases with a positivity rate of 17.83 per cent, according to data shared by the health department.
The national capital had on February 13 reported 12 deaths due to the viral disease. In the meantime, Mumbai on Wednesday reported 852 COVID-19 cases, the highest daily rise after July 1,
India registered a single day rise of 16,299 new COVID-19 cases, pushing the coronavirus tally to 4,42,06,996, the Union Health Ministry stated on Thursday.
The death toll climbed to 5,26,879 as 53 more people lost their lives due to coronavirus. The fresh coronavirus deaths were reported from Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka, West Bengal, Gujarat, Punjab, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Manipur, Rajasthan, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya, Odisha and Sikkim.
