Had Improvisation of the education sector and Irrigation been Taken up, I would not have come out for Election Contest: Kh. Jiban
Thoubal, 6th January 2022: Had the MLA of Wangkhem A/C worked on the improvisation of the education sector and irrigation sector, he wouldn’t have come out to contest the election today, said Kharibam Jiban Singh during a one-day political conference at Bishnunaha Community Hall today.
While delivering his speech as the chief guest, the intending candidate said a particular region can progress and develop only when the education sector of the region is well nourished. However, it is a great misfortune that Wangkhem doesn’t have a Govt. Higher Secondary School at present. We have had MLAs at Yairipok Bishnunaha for the last 40 years, but not one of the MLAs has ever tried nor anyone thought to upgrade the Yairipok High School to a Higher Secondary School. But, since the education system here fails, parents send their children to costly private schools and it has deteriorated the economic condition of every family.
He furthered that the Irrigation system in the constituency is also a failure. Like it is done in other major states in India where underground water is used for the purpose of irrigation, the state should also imitate them for better and regular harvesting. But this too, no any one of our representatives so far have tried or proposed the use of this method to the authority. And thus, people often face drought during cropping seasons. He also promised triple cropping in the region with the implementation of a new irrigation system.
If he is elected as the people’s representative of love and trust, he said, he would take up more developmental works and projects more than the 15 years rule of other representatives in the constituency. Citing BJP’s rule of 4.5 years as a typical example of growth and progress, he said he would work for the progress of the constituency in every aspect of life. He also said that he would hand over the local area development fund to the public directly. However, since he comes across many dilapidated and worn-out houses in his surveillance visit in the entire A/C, he hopes to provide a good-conditioned house at first.
He then requested to the public to work on their part and help him to realize all his work plans and projects.
The conference was organized by the Booth Level Committees of 32/38, 32/21, and 32/20 of Yairipok Bishnunaha. Retd Head Master Laikhuram Ibotombi Singh, Laishram Lokendro Singh of Siphai Leikai, Moirangthem Jaddu Singh of Bishnunaha, S Dhiren Singh of Siphai Leikai, and Md Hamid of Heitroipokpi graced the function as Chief Guest, President, And Guest of Honour.
