Dr. Oinam Sanayai (55 years), the Wushu Coach from Wangkhem, Thoubal, and the first gold medalist in Wushu for India is ready to openly challenge the wushu coaches of his age and weight around the world in a fight if he receives a little support from the Chief Minister of the state. The Coach has also openly challenged the wushu coaches in India.

He said the statement today during a press conference at his home.

The Manipuri coach brought many laurels for the country and the state in various national and international level competitions held in Dhaka, Bali, Makao, Beijing, etc. He also has taken part in various training and tournaments.

Dr. Sanayai also defeated a coach from Sikkim with much ease in an open challenge in 2014. However, in 2017, 2021, and 2022, nobody cooperated with him when he sent an open challenge to individuals above 40 years in the TAOLU category and persons of his age and weight in the SANDA Category.

He continued that in China and America, players as old as 75 years would come out to take part in an open fight. And as a result of this enthusiasm, boxing, wushu, and other sports flourish in the countries. He also strongly believes, that the competition among persons above 50 years would surely encourage the youths to step into wushu and develop the same and set a standard in the field. With this firm belief in his heart, he sent the Open Challenge, added the coach.

If he receives a little support from CM N.Biren Singh, he would fight any challenger without fear. And if the coaches in Manipur, presently taking part in the 2nd Manipur Olympic Games find it a disgrace to them, they should come out and fight with him, said the 55-year-old coach.
