Five More PLA Cadres Apprehended in Connection to Bomb Blasts

After teams of CDO-TBL and a column of 16 AR arrested seven PLA Cadres on Saturday, the 13th of August 2022, five more PLA cadres were arrested today along with the seizure of 4 (four) hand grenades from Tentha Tuwaband Leikai.
The cadres were successfully apprehended when teams of CDO-TBL led by Addl. SP (Ops) O Wangkhomba, assisted by Inspector N. Sadananda and personnel of 16 AR, under the overall supervision of Jogeshchandra Haobijam, SP-Thoubal conducted a search operation at Tentha Tuwaband Leikai around 8:15 am.
On receiving reliable input from 16 AR, that under the instructions of one SS Lt. Colonel Rishikanta @ Ranbir of the banned organization PLA, some cadres of the PLA had plans to disrupt the recent Independence Day Celebration by planting explosive devices and target non-local people in various valley districts of Manipur, teams of CDO-TBL led by Additional SP (Ops) O Wangkhomba assisted by Inspector N. Sadananda and personnel of 16 AR under the overall supervision of Jogeshchandra Haobijam, SP-Thoubal, conducted a search operation at Tentha Tuwaband Leikai.
The inputs furthered that arms and explosives had been transported from Moreh to one person in Tentha area to work out the plans. The teams apprehended the following 5 (five) cadres of the PLA along with a seizure of 4 (four) hand grenades. The cadres have been identified as
1. Keidongbam Subol @ Khomei (43) s/o (L) Keidongbam Biradhon of Wangbal Mayai Leikai
2. Paonam Manikanta Singh alias Amuyaima (32) s/o P. Arun Singh of Jirighat Lakhinagar a/p Tentha Tuwaband Leikai
3. Thambalmani (46) w/o Md. Tomba of Yairipok Singa Ethei Mapal
Further, as a follow-up of the above operation, the teams also arrested the following cadres on the input of Field G Team BSF Koirengei,
1. Sougaijam Ronan (32) s/o Sougaijam Sanayaima of Kakching Wairi Kamala Pareng
2. Naorem Britain (27) s/o Naorem Rajendro of Kakching Khunyai Leikai
An inquiry revealed that under the instructions of the same S'S Lt Colonel Rishikanta @ Ranbir of the PLA, they have been targeting non-local people in all the valley districts. And they along with other PLA cadres arrested by the same combined team of CDO Thoubal and 16 AR on 13/08/2022, are involved in the following recent IED blasts during May 2022:
1. IED Blast at Durga Mandir, Telepati, Imphal East on 13/05/2022
2 IED Blast at Khongjom Sapam, Thoubal on 30/05/2022
The arrested cadres and seized items have been handed over to Khongjom PS. And a case has been registered for further investigation after due formalities are observed.
