BJP needs to Read History of Indian Independence and its Freedom Struggle: MPCC Vice President Hareshwar Goswami
MPCC Vice President slammed BJP and CM. N. Biren on their vague knowledge of Indian History. "It is indeed very nefarious to speak half-backed knowledge by a responsible leader," said the MPCC Vice President.
Hareshwar Goswami expressed this statement at a press meet held on Sunday at Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee Office at BT Road. Speaking about Bharat Jodo Yatra, he said that it is a reunification movement led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in which he alone with several congress workers and Indians will walk South to North stretch of India that is from Kanyakumari to Kashmir bringing the message of unified India and prompting all Indians from the toleration of violation of secularism, freedom of speech, democratic principles by this BJP led government and their promotion of polarization in diverse India which in the long run will divide India, against the high inflation and misleading promise of wooing the voters. He said that this movement will arouse Indians and join hands in saving India from going into a dark future.
He expressed his concern about CM N. Biren's remarks on "Bharat Jodo Yatra" converting into Rahul Gandhi's "Bharat Todo Yatra". He said that they didn't expect such a shameful remark from a responsible CM. He slammed CM. N. Biren that Biren may not know or studied Indian history before saying this. He slammed the BJP and its leadership to recalled the history of their party's forefathers' involvement in the Indian freedom struggle, he asserted that the BJP predecessor and its parent party Bharatiya Jana Sangh is born after Indian Independence and their founding fathers such as Shyama Prasaad Mukherjee, Keshav Balram Thakkeral, Dr. B. S Kunje, Deen Dayal Upadhyay, Madhav Sadashiv Gowalkar are all Hindu extremist and has no involvement in Indian freedom struggle instead they were against the movement of Indian freedom struggle. He said that RSS, Hindu Mahasabha, and BJP predecessor Bharatiya Jana Sangh have one goal that is Hindutva which means integration of Hindus and creation of Hindu Rashtra which is obsolete thinking and thought and doesn't match with this modern-day democratic system. He said that before Md. Ali Jinnah conceived the idea of two nation theory and spoke it in the Lahore Session of 1940, VD Savarkar and Madhav Sadashiv Gowalkar write in their books "Hindu Rashtra Darshan" and "We or Our Nationhood Defined" about two India one for Muslim and one for Hindu and also they mention to keep up the purity of the nation and it's culture in their book and Bhai Premananda also speak about two nation even before Partition of Bengal 1905. He said that thought and thinking of a divided India is loomed by their forefathers and instead of reading the history they are alleging Congress for dividing India. He furthered that their forefathers write books filled with thoughts similar to that of the Nazi regime of Hitler and called our reunification movement a movement to divide India. He slammed BJP to read the history of observing Indian Independence Day and Republic Day as black days by their forefathers.
He also recalled that PM Modi and Ram Madhav's remarks on Akhand Bharat are very controversial which can disrupt the peacefulness in this region. He also recalled that LK Advani himself was against the inclusion of the Ashoka Chakra on the Indian Flag and defined it as a symbol of the Buddhist religion.
He continued BJP questioned the Indian National Congress Achievement instead of questioning BJP must read the history of freedom movements such as the Swadeshi Movement, Dandi March popularly known as Salt Satyagraha, the Non-cooperation movement and the very popular Quit India Movement of 1942 which impacted British Imperial Government in India, he said that BJP should remember after the formation of Indian National Congress in 1885, INC bears the torch of Indian freedom struggle and brought Indian Independence along with the people of India then. Goswami quoted that questioning INC achievement by BJP would be like questioning father achievement by a newborn child.
Goswami asked BJP that Article 370 be implemented in Jammu and Kashmir under Indian Constitution by the then Constituent Assembly headed by PM Nehru of which Shyama Prasad Mukherjee was also a Minister of Nehru Cabinet. It was revoked recently but it is quite questionable that Naga Constitution is said to be incorporated into the Indian Constitution as agreed on the ongoing Naga Peace Talk, then what does this mean? He persuaded the BJP to be evenhanded to its people in governing India. Later he appealed to CM N. Biren to withdraw his negative remark on Bharat Jodo Yatra and Indian Unification by Congress.
