Computer - Centre for children Installed at Village Phaisenjang near Indo-Myanmar Border

Assam Rifles Joupi battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) inaugurated Computer Centre for children at Village Phaisenjang near Indo-Myanmar Border, Chandel District on 26 March 2023.
A total of 47 children of Phaisenjang village were enrolled in computer learning. The computer centre has been installed with five computers. Classes will be held every day and they will be conducted by a trained computer soldier of Assam Rifles. Children will be imparted with basic knowledge of computers and will also be trained to operate Microsoft office.
The village authorities and residents present during the inauguration appreciated and expressed their gratitude for the initiative taken by Assam Rifles for the enhancement of their children’s education. As such kind of facilities are not available in border area villages.
While in another incidence, Moreh Battalion Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles (South), on 24 March 2023, foiled cross-border smuggling of narcotics woth over 3 crores at Haolenphai village near Border Pillar 76, Moreh, Manipur.
Based on specific input, Moreh Battalion Assam Rifles launched Surveillance and Mobile Vehicle Check Post in the general area of Haolenphai village near Border Pillar 76, Moreh. The team observed a suspicious Kenbo bike coming from the Myanmar side towards Indian Territory along with black color polythene. On noticing the Security Force’s presence, Kenbo bike riders immediately turned back the Kenbo bike with the intention to run away. Due to rigorous chase by the team pillion rider dropped a black polythene while taking advantage of the porous border, in close proximity to International Border, and escaped. On detailed checking of the polythene, it contained 37 x Soap Cases containing Brown Sugar weighing approximately 1.536 kilograms. The cost of seized Brown Sugar is Rupees 3.072 Crores in the international Market.
The recovered items have been handed over to Moreh Police Station for further legal proceedings.
