Film Maker OC Meira Conferred with International Award
Imphal, March 27- Renowned Manipuri Film Director O C Meira has been conferred Jury Special Mention Award on NIRI 9- 2nd International Film Festival 2023 held at Sangeet Kala Mandhir, Kolkata. He has been conferred the Award for his direction of the Manipuri Feature Film ASENGBA ERAL which also got official selection in the festival. The festival was organized by NIRI Media from the 25th to the 26th of March, Director of the festival Dr. Junmoni Devi Khound expressed that the selection of the film ASENGBA ERAL made the festival more colorful.

The production, story, and lyric of the film are Kshetrimayum Subadani under the banner of Dosuyali Film Production Manipur. The festival was participated by more than 296 Feature Films of different languages of the world produced and released in 2022, out of the 296 only eight feature films were selected and ASENGBA ERAL is one of the eight selected. Unfortunately, O C Meira was unable to attend the festival however asst. cinematographer of the film Thingbaijam Omeshkumar on behalf of the Production team received the prestigious International Award.

In the Short Film Category of the Festival, Manipuri Short Film EEWAI also participated. The Short Film is Directed by Khwairakpam Bishwamitra and the lead actress of this Short Film Leisangthem Tonthoinganbi received the Best Actress Award in the Short Film category. The short film was produced by Nongdol Mamikol. Tonthoi also received two Best Actress Awards from the said film. The film festival was attended by Renowned Film Personality Seema Biswas and Music Composer and Singer Zubeen Garg.
