Huge Load of Liquor Seized from a Manufacturing Unit in Khongjom; Two Arrested in the Connection

Teams of Khongjom Police Station, on Sunday, seized a huge load of Indian Made Foreign Liquor from the residence of one Thokchom Bobo Singh of Khongjom Maning Leikai. The team also arrested two individuals involved in manufacturing IMFL at the former’s residence.

On receiving special information regarding the illegal manufacturing of IMFL at the residence of one Thokchom Bobo Singh (43 years), s/o (late) Thokchom Nokul Singh of Khongjom Maning Leikai, teams of Khongjom PS led by OC Khongjom PS - Inspector K. Santosh Singh and SI O. Inaobi Singh under the overall supervision of SP/ Thoubal, Jogeshchandra Haobijam IPS along with the women police of Khongjom PS rushed to the manufacturing unit and conducted the search operation and made the seizure of a huge load of liquor and subsequent arrest of the two individuals.

The two persons arrested have been identified as 1) Thokcham (0) Bino Devi (60 years), w/o Late Th. Nokul Singh of Khongjom Maning Leikai, and 2) Thokchom (0) Achoubi Devi  (40 years) w/o Th. Bobo Singh of Khongjom Maning Leikai. The two are kept at the Khongjom Police Station for further formalities.

And the huge load of liquor and other materials seized during the search operation include:

  1. Full bottles of 750 mi Old Monk bottles counted as 8 cases,
  2. Half bottles containing 375 ml having 10 cases,
  3. Thirty seven cartoon boxes of empty bottles,
  4. Forty-four bundles of cartoon boxes,
  5. Fourteen empty gallons used for preparing illegal liquor,
  6. Four water jars,
  7. One no. of plastic water container Red colour,
  8. One silver water container
  9. Three gunny bags containing plastic cap which was used to fit the bottles,
  10. Three plastics jar containing suspicious of using as a chemical used in IMFL illegal liquor manufacturing, and
  11. One roll of sticker marked as Mc Dowell’s used for trademark.

          A case has been registered under case FIR No. 16(3}2023 KIM-PS U/s. 272/273/465/483/420/120-B IPC and 43(b)(f) Manipur Liquor Prohibition Act, 1991, for further investigation.
