Human Chain Demonstration at Moirang Lamkhai Demanding Inclusion of Meetei/Meitei in ST List

Moirang, February 01 - STDCM in collaboration with Moirang Lamkhai Youth Development Organization, vendors and shop owners of Moirang Lamkhai demonstrate by forming a human chain demanding the inclusion of Meetei/Meitei in ST list of the Indian Constitution and Manipur Government to send a recommendation to the Central Government.
Forming the human chain demonstrators hailed the slogan - "Include Meetei/Metei in ST list", and " Manipur Government should send a recommendation to the Central Government " several times. Demonstrators expressed their dismay at the government's irresponsible attitude on this matter and appealed to the government to send immediate recommendations at the earliest and fulfill the wish of the Manipuri people of including Meetei/Meitei in the ST list of the Indian Constitution.
They expressed that constitutional safeguard for the weaker and fewer Manipuri people is essential to preserve the tradition, culture, and identity of Manipur.
