Illegal Immigrants’ Influx Issue along Indo Myanmar Border: Tengnoupal District Magistrate Releases Notice Regarding Proper Identification to Prevent Neutralization of Illegal Immigrants

Owing to the apprehension of the General Public on the issues of the influx of Illegal immigration across Indo Myanmar Border, the Tengnoupal District Magistrate has brought to the notice of the State Government on Monday through notice No. DC(TP)/14/1-2020(Home) to take up immediate steps for proper identification and preventing them from neutralization amongst the native population.

The following have been notified for information of all the concerned.

A special drive for verification and checking of illegal immigrants taken up by
the State Government is going on in the district;
That the general public is directed to report to the respective Police Staanyoneenforcing agencies/Security agencies in the district in case anyone identified or suspected to be a Myanmar national is detected or found living in their respective ·
villages;
Those facilities for providing temporary accommodation, food, safety, and medical helps are being developed by the Government at Haolenphai village, Moreh SubDivision, Tengnoupal District, Manipur:
Such illegal immigrants will not be arrested or detained. They will be extended
all humanitarian assistance temporarily till they are properly deported or any
the further decision as regards to them is taken up by the competent Central and State
Government Authorities;
In the event of any such case, they should be reported without fail. Anyone or
any Village Authority found harboring/providing accommodation/shelter without the
permission of the Government, stringent legal action as deemed fit shall be taken up
as per law of the land and prosecuted.
