Laishram Boby Conferred with the Honorary Doctorate Award

Laishram Boby of Khonghampat Awang Leikai of Imphal West District, Manipur, was conferred with the Honorary Doctorate Award-2022 in the Social Work category by Commonwealth Vocational University, Kingdom of Tonga.
The prestigious Doctor of Philosophy (Honouris Causa) Award was conferred to her by the Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Dr. Ripu Ranjan Singha, at the International Conference on Concept Development for Digital Education and Asia Iconic and Pride of India Awards Presentation Ceremony held on Sunday at Hotel Raddison of Gurugram, Udyog Vihar.
The Award Presentation Ceremony was jointly organized by Commonwealth Vocational University and Global Human Right Council.
The ceremony was attended by Advocates of the Supreme Court of India Ashok Sood Shastri, Dr. Kiran Bongle, and other notable dignitaries.
Commonwealth Vocational University, Kingdom of Tonga, has been conferring Honorary Doctorate Awards to various individuals working with dedication and sacrifice in their respective fields for society.
Laishram Boby Devi, the receiver of the prestigious Honorary Doctorate Award, was born on August 19 of 1979 to (Late) Laishram Ibochouba Singh and (Late) Laishram Ongbi Tombi Devi of Khonghampat Awang Leikai.
Boby, from her childhood involved in many public affairs. She was a Karateka during her school days and bagged many medals in State and National Level Championship. She also bagged a bronze medal in the 1993 Karate Championship. She is an ardent lover of Manipuri Culture and is involved in many activities to promote, preserve, and conserve culture.
Speaking of her humanitarian activities, she has done ten blood donations to this date. And in 1995, after joining the All Manipur Student Union, she became General Secretary of the Khonghampat Branch and engaged in many welfare works. While studying at Ibotonsana Girl Higher Secondary School, she was elected General Secretary of the School Student Union and took up many welfare works for the students.
From 1995 to 1996, she worked as General Secretary of the Khonghampat Youth Club and influenced sports activities for youths of Khonghampat by organizing various Village Level Sports Meet and Football Tournaments. In 2017, she was elected as a Member of Imphal West Zilla Parishad and even held the post of Upadhyaksha of Imphal West Zilla Parishad.
She not only engages in welfare works for her district, but also for the Manipuri people. She was honored with Honorary Doctorate Award as a recognition of her dedication and service.
She also received many other awards, such as Jewel of North East Award 2015, presented by Global Brotherhood Forum, New Delhi, Bharat Excellence Award 2015 presented by Friendship Forum, New Delhi, Meidingoo Maharaj Okendro Sana Ningshing Mana 2021, Indian Award for Excellence 2015 presented by Human Care Foundation, New Delhi and Manipuri Imagi Athoibi Mamomloi 2022 and various other Awards.
