MGNREGA Director to Grant the Demands of the Manipur state Panchayat Parishad Shortly: President MSPP

MGNREGA Director, Government of India, has given its assurance that the demands of Manipur state Panchayat Parishad would be granted shortly, Md. Abdul Latif, President of MSPP, said through a press release on Tuesday.

Representatives of Manipur state Panchyat Parishad in New Delhi have submitted their memorandum consisting of a charter of demands to the Union Minister and State Minister (MoS), a press release confirmed.

President Md. Abdul Latif said that the representatives of MSPP have been camping in New Delhi since the 1st of February. After submitting their charter of demands to the MPs from Manipur, the representatives met RD and PR minister Giriraj Singh and Union MoS for Rural Development Jyoti Sadhvi Niranjan on Monday and submitted the memorandum. The ministers have given assurance that their demands would be granted shortly, added Latif.

The representatives of MSPP flew to New Delhi and submitted their charter of demands to the Prime Minister's Office in writing on Thursday, the 2nd of February, as part of their protest. They also asked the Prime Minister in writing to resolve their problems at the earliest.

Md.Latif, the State President of Manipur State Panchayat Parisad and the leader of the representatives in Delhi, said that they demanded the release of the liabilities fund for the financial year 2021-2022 despite repeated proposals. The Parishad also submitted an ultimatum to conduct the 6th Panchayat election and transfer of power to the Panchayat itself.
However, the state didn't even bother to concede its demands. At this, Manipur State Panchayat Parisad rushed to New Delhi and began their protest, the President added.
