One Active UNLF Cadre Arrested in Serou

A combined team of 15 AR, Sajik Tampak, and Sugnu Police arrested an active cadre of the banned United National Liberation Front UNLF on Sunday at about 11:00 am from Nepali Khulak, Serou.

On receiving reliable input that an insurgent loiters around in Serou, the combined team of 15 AR, Sajik Tampak, and a Sugnu Police team led by SI P. Kiran Singh under the supervision of OC/SGN PS, ASP(LO)/KCG, conducted a joint operation at the tri-junction of Serou Part-ll road of Nepali Khulak and conducted frisking and checking. During the checking, the team detained a suspected individual for verification.

On preliminary verification, he identified himself as Sapam Marcus Meitei @ Rocky @ Watemba(party name) (30 years), s/o S. Inaobi Meitei of Keibi Kumuda Maning Leikai, Lamlai-PS, Imphal East District, an active member of an unlawful organization (UNLF). He further stated that he joined UNLF in the year 2011, December, and got basic military training in Tamuna village near Thongren Village, Myanmar under army No.2378. He was promoted to the rank of sergeant in the year 2021. Hence, he was arrested from the spot at 02:20 pm for taking necessary legal action.
