Representatives of Manipur State Panchayat Parisad flew to New Delhi and submitted their charter of demands to the Prime Minister's Office in writing on Thursday as part of their protest. They also asked the Prime Minister in writing to resolve their problems at the earliest.
Md.Latif, the State President of Manipur State Panchayat Parisad and the leader of the representatives in Delhi, said as the state government refused to release the liabilities fund for the financial year 2021-2022 despite repeated proposals. The Parishad also submitted an ultimatum to conduct the 6th Panchayat election and transfer of power to the Panchayat itself on many occasions. But the never paid heed to their demands. At this, Manipur State Panchayat Parisad rushed to New Delhi and began their protest, the state President added.
Latif furthered that the Parishad team has also submitted the charter of demands in writing to the Union minister of state for Education and External Affairs, RK Ranjan. The team will meet the Union minister RD and PR and Rajya Sabha MP, Leisemba Sanajaoba, and submit the same copy.
