Three Held in Connection with Stone Attack at Teams of Police on Duty

Teams of Manipur police on Sunday nabbed three individuals from Bir Tikendrajit International Airport after they attacked a police team
on duty on 20th January at Khetrigao Yumkhaibam Maning Leikai.

The three arrested have been identified as Md. Abbas (22 years), son of Md.Munis Khan and Md. Rahman (34 years), son of Md. Rahmad from Khetrigaon Maning Leikai, and Md. Tehsur Rahman (22 years), son of Tahidur Rahman from Keikhu Awang Leikai.

The three attacked the police team on duty by pelting concrete stones. And they have been absconding for the last few days. However, teams from Manipur Police arrested the absconders from Imphal airport when they were trying to flee to Kolkata.

The attack took place on 20th January when teams of Porompat Police Station headed by ASP (OPS), on 20th January, rushed to Khetrigao
Yumkhaibam Maning Leikai to nab some drug dealers. They detained a suspect and were interrogating him for more clues. However, all of a sudden, they were attacked with concrete with stones by the three individuals arrested on Sunday. Some police personnel sustained
injuries during the attack. Some of the police vehicles also were damaged in the attack.

At this, the Porompat Police Station filed an FIR and has been on the hunt for the attackers.
