VDF Missing Case: JAC and Crowd of Locals Block Asian Highway Opposite Thoubal Okram

Taking a step further, JAC, in joint hands with a crowd of locals, on Wednesday, took to the Asian Highway opposite Thoubal Okram and blocked the highway as part of their protest regarding the missing case of VDF N. Premananda.

Notably, VDF N. Premananda went to destroy the poppy plantation at Urantop Chingmai, on 16th January as part of the state's ongoing War on Drugs 2.0. However, the concerned department reported the family of his missing on 21st January. The state has been unable to find out the whereabouts of the missing VDF personnel since.

Earlier, the public questioned and demanded a valid response from the side of the government by 31st December. But the government failed on its side.

At this failure on the side of the government to live up to its promises, the JAC of Missing N.Premananda VDF no.706 Chingkham, clubs Organizations, associations, Meira Paibis, and civil society organizations took the extreme step of blocking the Asian Highway.

The protesters stated that the government doesn't bother much in their efforts and search work for the missing VDF. It's been eleven days, but the government has not given any clue in this regard, said the locals in the protest.
