Water Resources Minister Awangbow inspects Banks of the Wangjing, Kakching and Sengmai Rivers for Review

Water Resources Minister Awangbow paid a review visit at the banks of the Wangjing, Kakching and Sengmai Rivers in the view to protect the banks and prevent flooding in the region.
MLA Paonam Brojen - Wangjing AC, MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwor - Kakching AC, MLA Leishiyo Keishing of Phungyar AC, and Senior Engineers of Water Resources associated the minister and reviewwd the dilapidated embankments of Wangjing and Sengmai Rivers.
During the review visit, Minister Awangbow said the banks of Sengmai and Kakching rivers are in a poor condition and can be swept away by flood water anytime. He then called MLA Paonam Brojen and MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwor to repair the banks immediately before any unlikely incident happens.
The minister continued that the government has taken up repairing works of river banks of to prevent heavy flood. However, projects for Wangjing and Kakching are at the initial stage.
While considering the poor condition of the people, the Minister said that he would take up schemes and programs for the upliftment of the helpless people.
Expressing his gratitude to the minister for the assurance of repairing works in the two rivers, MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar of Kakching AC said that CM N. Biren Singh would surely assist you with a permanent solution to all the problems of frequent flood in the region and make water a community resource.
