Indo-Myanmar border tense after air strikes, panic-stricken villagers of Kwatha Khunou fled to safe area

Panic-stricken villagers of Kwatha Khunou residing near the Indo Myanmar border pillar number 81 fled to safe area as Myanmar army attacked camps of resistant group People’s Defence Force (PDF) for the second time.

Kwatha Khunou is located just 1,000 metres away from Indo-Myanmar border and villagers dispersed for their safety and took shelter at neighbouring villages following the aerial strike.

The Myanmar army continued aerial strikes at hideouts and camps of the PDF located near the Indo-Myanmar border. It is reported that the impact and some residuals of bombs drop by the Myanmar Army using helicopters reached Kwatha Khunou.

With this development, security forces in Manipur intensified vigilance along the Indo-Myanmar in the backdrop of airstrikes near the international border on the Myanmar side.

On Thursday, the Myanmar military launched aerial attacks on hideouts and camps of the resistance force in the upper Tamu district close to Indo-Myanmar border.

It is reported that two PDF cadre was reportedly killed and four others injured in the attack.
