Former CM O. Ibobi Questions BJP’s Extension of Disturb Area Status against Their Claim of Good Law and Order Situation in Manipur

HY Senior Reporter Thoubal, 2nd December 2021: In its party’s political conference held at Lilong Sambrukhong, leader of the Congress Legislature Party and the former CM, Okram Ibobi Singh distrusted CM Biren Singh and the BJP-led Government on why Disturbed Area Status has been extended when it haughtily claims Better Law and Condition prevailing in Manipur in public meetings.

The veteran and leader of the Congress Party insisted the huge crowd of people in the Conference cast their valuable vote to Syed Anwar Hussain and appoint him their representative in the upcoming 12th Vidhan Sabha Election in early 2022 in that political conference organized by Lilong Block Congress Committee.

Speaking further in the conference, former CM O. Ibobi uttered his dissatisfaction on the fact that various developmental schemes he initiated in his tenure as the CM have always remained stagnant till present under the BJP led Government headed by N. Biren Singh as the chief minister.

The former CM added that laying foundation stones by BJP led Government in far-flung places is never a promising one. He has challenged the government to establish a District Hospital in any of the new districts formed recently in hill areas.

He said the previous government under Congress formed new districts in Manipur to take up better developmental works and projects in hill areas. He confronted the BJP-led Government to announce any new developmental scheme for the new districts. The BJP government has not been able to accomplish and initiate many developmental schemes like the previous government have initiated, criticized the former CM.

Describing the MLA of Lilong AC to be very incompetent, the veteran leader accused him of delaying many developmental and infrastructural works. He further said unlike BJP, congress never does self-proclamation of the rule and the good works. Whether a government is good or bad is something which only the public will decide, the veteran added.

Emphasizing how the congress party aims for equal development of all, the former CM appealed to the crowd gathered there to fully support his party for an absolute majority in the upcoming Vidhan Sabha Election, 2022.

Syed Anwar Hussain, intending candidate of Congress for Lilong A/C opened up that if he befell to win the election with the support of the people and by God’s grace, he would eliminate the problem of drinking water facility in Lilong A/C and provide Housing Scheme to every family entitled to. He also promised to set up a Fire Sub-Station in the constituency, increase the credit limit of Women’s Self-Help Groups, work for improvement in the education sector including the provision of hostel facilities for minority girls in Higher secondary schools, and upgrading of Lilong Haoreibi College to a PG College.
Besides, the intending candidate also gave assurance that he would hand over the Local Area Development Fund to the people for the welfare and development of the constituency.
He also appealed to the people to kindly cast their valuable vote to him and allow him to serve them.

As part of the conference, the organizing committee rewarded MK Habibur @Bony, a covid warrior who provided “Free Ambulance Service” day and night to the general public during the pandemic, and two other sportspersons who earned laurels for the state with modest mementos as an encouragement.
