Asha Parekh to be conferred with Dada Saheb Phalke Award

Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has announced that the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the year 2020 will be accorded to legendary actress Asha Parekh.
Announcing the decision Union Minister Anurag Thakur said, “I am honoured to announce that the Dadasaheb Phalke Selection Jury has decided to recognise & award Ms Asha Parekh ji for her exemplary lifetime contribution to Indian Cinema."
Known has one of the most popular and influential actresses of all time in Hindi cinema, Asha Parekh starred in several iconic movies like Teesri Manzil, Kati Patang, Caravan, Do Badan among others. The actress had made her debut as a child artist in Bollywood with the 1952 film Aasmaan.
The award will be presented at the National Film Award ceremony in New Delhi.
