Meghalaya Chief Minister inspects landslide-affected areas of East Jaintia Hills district

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma today inspected the landslide-affected areas of East Jaintia Hills district. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Home Minister Lahkmen Rymbui along with officials of district administration and NHAI. It may be mentioned that NH-06 which connects Meghalaya with other States like Mizoram and Tripura along with Barak Valley of Assam got cut off due to a massive landslide.

Following the inspection, the Chief Minister stated that l efforts are being made to repair the entire road and get accessibility through. However, there is a huge challenge as the rain has not 

He also interacted with the stranded truck drivers along the highway and instructed the deputy commissioner to ensure the supply of food items to the stranded people.
