Five Injured in Lightening at Moirang Khunou

Five youths were injured as lightening hit at Moirang Khunou under Bishnupur district on Tuesday afternoon.

The injured youths have been identified as Phairenbam Boy, Hemam Basanta, Mairenbam Bikramjit, Laithangbam Yaima, Meitram Naocha (Phougakchao Ikhai), presently staying at Moirang.

Of the five injured, two is somewhat critical and they are under treatment at Moirang Community Health Centre. The lightening heat has injured Meitram Nanao from head to toe and Boy has all his buttock burnt in the lightening.

The ill-fated incident occurred around 2 pm on Tuesday when the youths were taking shelter at a cottage nearby at Moirang Khunou.

Locals around heard their cry for help and brought them to the community health centre.
