FM Sitharaman Tables ₹35K Crore Manipur Budget for FY26

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday presented the Budget for Manipur for the financial year 2025-26, with a total expenditure of ₹35,104 crore, marking a 7.5% increase from the revised estimates of FY25.

With the state currently under President’s Rule, the Budget includes a 9% rise in capital outlay, reaching ₹7,773 crore. The Centre has also allocated ₹2,866 crore for incentives for police personnel posted in sensitive areas.

For relief and rehabilitation of internally displaced persons, ₹15 crore has been earmarked for temporary shelters, ₹35 crore for housing, ₹100 crore for relief operations, and ₹7 crore for compensation.

Additionally, the social sector outlay has been set at ₹9,520 crore, aiming to support various welfare initiatives in the state.
