AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh suspended for entire Monsoon Session

Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar on Monday suspended AAP MP Sanjay Singh for the entire duration of the Monsoon session for “repeatedly violating the directives of the Chair”. The MP from AAP was suspended for allegedly jumping into the well of the House and raising slogans, and refusing to go back despite being warned by the Rajya Sabha Chairman.
As Opposition demands statement of Prime Minister on Manipur, Lok Sabha Speaker reportedly says you don't get to decide who responds. It is reported that MPs from the Opposition-front INDIA and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged separate protests near the Gandhi Statue in the Parliament on Monday.
The suspension, which comes at a time when the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party have locked horns over the Centre's ordinance on control of bureaucrats in Delhi, invited a sharp reaction from the AAP. The party said Sanjay Singh is a strong voice of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha and the BJP would have put him in jail if it had its way.
