A delegation of opposition parties, Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A), MPs will visit Manipur on July 29-30. The team is likely to meet displaced people residing in several relief camps across the state. More than 160 people were killed and over 55,000 people were displaced in the ongoing violence prevailing in the state since May 03.
The opposition has been accusing the prime minister of not making a statement in Parliament on Manipur. On Thursday, Rajya Sabha witnessed a ‘slogan war’, as opposition MPs shouted slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking his statement on the Manipur issue, while members from the ruling party responded with chants in favour of the Prime Minister.
During the proceeding of the house, opposition chanted ‘INDIA, INDIA’ and a range of slogans criticising the prime minister, the ruling side responded with ‘Modi, Modi.’
INDIA or ‘Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance’ is a group of 26 opposition parties, including the Congress.
