CM N. Biren Singh dedicates Nongpok Thong on the eastern side of Kangla fort to the public on its opening day

In its opening ceremony, CM exhorts all communities to pray for unity, peace, and prosperity for the state by coming together.
CM asserted It has been his dream to bridge the gap of the hills valley dichotomy and after BJP comes to power with the blessing of god they emphasize bringing peace and development to the state. Two years have been down with covid pandemic but they did whatever they could to curb and minimize the adversity said CM.
While handing over the Nongpok Thong to Public CM writes, "Kangla Nongpok Thong (Bridge) which is built similar to the one which was built by our ancestors is now handed over to the public. I strongly believe that this bridge has a strong cultural as well as spiritual significance and with this Manipur will achieve new heights in development and peace."
CM dedicates the Nongpok Thong on the eastern side of Kangla fort to the public on Tuesday. He wishes, the bridge to restore order, peace, harmony, and prosperity in the state that has finally been opened.
CM believes that there will be a feeling of oneness, peace, harmony, and prosperity after the opening of the Nongpok-Thong (Eastern Gate) of Kangla Fort. It will be remembered in the history of Manipur as the moment when the prophecy of 'Nongpok Thong Hangba' was fulfilled, said CM.

In the last few days, the Manipur government evicted illegal encroachers from near the historic Kangla Nongpok Thong in Imphal city on Sunday. CM mentioned not to be disheartened to the affected shop owners, as expanding roadways is very important on its pathways to Kangla Nongpok Thong for the larger interest of the state.
The eastern gate of Kangla was first opened on Friday by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and PM Narendra Modi congratulates the people of Manipur on its opening a day after.
Reportedly, Nongpok Thong was dismantled by the British after the 1891- Anglo Manipur War.
On Friday, chief minister N Biren Singh tweeted: “The opening of Kangla Nongpok Thong has a very important cultural significance that will bring peace, unity, and prosperity in the state"
