Delegations representing key civil society organisations from both Meitei and Kuki-Zo communities have departed from Imphal for New Delhi to participate in a high-level peace dialogue initiated by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). The crucial meeting, scheduled for Saturday, is part of the Centre's ongoing efforts to mediate and foster reconciliation between the two ethnic communities amid the prolonged unrest in Manipur.

A joint delegation from the All Manipur United Clubs’ Organisation (AMUCO) and the Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS), Manipur, will represent Meitei civil society interests in the dialogue. The meeting aims to address the ongoing ethnic tensions and seek pathways to a peaceful resolution.

Meanwhile, representatives of the Zomi Council, Hmar Inpi, and the Kuki-Zo Council have also left for the national capital to take part in the peace talks, according to sources within the Kuki community.

The dialogue in Delhi marks a significant step in the Centre’s peace-building initiative, as it brings together stakeholders from both sides for formal discussions facilitated by the Union government.
