Massive flooding in Manipur has left more than 56,500 people affected, with one person reportedly missing. The deluge has impacted 174 localities and villages across the state, damaging 10,477 houses and forcing the evacuation of 2,913 residents. Authorities have established 57 relief camps to shelter the displaced.
In addition to the human toll, the floods have caused significant infrastructure damage, with 48 structures reported as affected. Agricultural losses are also mounting, with more than 64 hectares of crop area submerged. The state has further recorded 93 incidents of landslides, exacerbating the crisis.
Rescue and relief operations are ongoing as officials work to assess the full extent of the damage and provide support to affected communities.
