The Governor of Manipur has issued a heartfelt appeal to all communities in the state, urging them to work towards restoring peace and normalcy after more than 20 months of unrest. Acknowledging the immense hardships faced by people in both the Valley and Hills, the Governor emphasized the need for collective efforts to end hostilities and maintain order.

In a significant move to curb violence, the Governor called upon citizens—especially the youth—to voluntarily surrender looted and illegally held weapons and ammunition. Individuals are encouraged to return these arms to the nearest police station, outpost, or security forces camp within the next seven days. The Governor assured that no punitive action would be taken against those who comply within this period.

"This single act of returning weapons can be a powerful step towards peace," the Governor stated, reaffirming the government's commitment to resolving the crisis peacefully and ensuring a secure future for Manipur’s youth.

The appeal concluded with a call for unity and trust, urging all communities to come together in rebuilding the state for a brighter future. "Come forward and choose peace," the Governor urged.
