Security Forces Destroy 50 Acres of Illegal Poppy Cultivation in Tengnoupal, Kangpokpi

A joint team of Security Forces and the Forest Division in Tengnoupal carried out an operation on Wednesday to eradicate illegal poppy cultivation. Under the supervision of Tengnoupal Police Station, the team targeted a hill range in Loikong, Tengnoupal District, successfully destroying poppy crops spread over 40 acres. A regular case has been registered for further investigation.

In a separate operation in Kangpokpi District, another joint team from Security Forces and the Forest Division conducted a crackdown at Kotzim. The operation resulted in the destruction of illegal poppy cultivation across 10 acres, along with the demolition of three farm huts. Additionally, fertilizers and chemicals used by the cultivators were burnt on the spot. Authorities have registered a regular case for investigation in this incident as well.
