Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh flagged off GPS-enabled highway patrol vehicles, phase III for Tamenglong, Noney, Kangpokpi, Senapati and Tengnoupal districts at the Darbar Hall of CM secretariat on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister said “the state government has been taking up these security measures to ensure advancement in trade and tourism in Manipur”.
“With various initiatives to maintain peace in the state, the people are able to move freely anywhere around the state today”, he said.
Earlier, The Chief Minister flagged off five GPS-enabled highway patrol vehicles to ply on the Indo-Myanmar Road from Pallel to the border town of Moreh.
The state police had also launched six GPS-enabled patrol vehicles to cover the stretch between Kangpokpi and Senapati on National Highway-102 with an aim to provide security to the public, especially along the highways.
