Manipur Chief Minister N Biren, Governor La Ganesan and several other leaders have extended greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion Chavang Kut.
Chavang Kut, the autumn harvest event is celebrated by the Chin Kuki Mizo group of Manipur on November 1 every year. The day is declared a state holiday in Manipur during which all businesses remain closed.
In his message, the Chief Minister said “heartiest greetings to my brothers and sisters of Kuki- Chin- Mizo on the occasion of KUT. May the festival bring peace, prosperity and harmony to the State”.
Governor La Ganesan said that Kut is considered the biggest festival among the Kuki-Chin-Mizo ethnic groups and it is celebrated as a post-harvest festival for thanksgiving and gratitude to the Almighty for bountiful harvest.
Ministers Yumnam Khemchand, Nemcha Kipgen, Awangbow Newmai and Th Basanta Kumar Singh, Hili 'Areas Committee (MAC) chairman Dinganglung Gangmei conveyed in their messages expressed elation that people belonging to different communities also join in the celebration of Kut Festival and spread the message of oneness.
The celebrations of Chavang Kut are viewed as a chance to advance harmony, wealth, and peace within the state.
