Manipur Police observed 131st Raising Day at the 1st MR Ground, Imphal on Wednesday. The Chief Minister took salute from march-past contingents from state security forces at 1st MR Parade Ground.

Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh attend the Raising Day celebration. During his address, the Chief Minister said “to enable the Police Department in achieving its objectives, GPS-enabled dedicated highway patrol has been launched with 27 GPS-fitted vehicles deployed for the first time in Manipur and the North East”.

Mentioning the role and importance of police, the Chief Minister said “to stop illegal immigration and smuggling, 34 Police outposts along the Indo-Myanmar International Border and 6 Police outposts along National Highway-37(Imphal-Jiribam) have been approved for construction”.

Further, he said “the much-awaited results of the IRB recruitment have also been declared. While the service condition of VDFs has been improved with an annual increment of monthly honorarium, the traffic management system is being revamped as well”.
