Mera Chaoren Houba being celebrated today, CM extends wishes

Mera Chaoren Houba is being celebrated across the state on Monday. It is celebrated with the most fervor in the Kangla Palace, Sanamahi Temple and several other places.

Mera Chaoren Houba festival is celebrated on the first day of the month of Mera Tha, the seventh month in the Manipuri Lunar calendar.

Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh extended his best wishes to the masses on the auspicious occasion of ‘Mera Chaoren Houba’; and hoped for greater heights of peace & harmony among the communities.

Taking to Facebook, the Chief Minister said “I extend my best wishes to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Mera Chaoren Houba. Celebrated to preserve and promote unity among all communities in the state, this festival provides an opportunity for each one of us to reaffirm our commitment to live in perfect harmony”.

“May the festival further the spirit of peace, unity and oneness”, the CM said.
