Meira Paibis of Nongpok Sekmai under Thoubal District claimed that the two women in the viral that surfaced a day ahead of the Monsoon session of the Parliament were saved and rescued by them. Not only this, they also saved three more Kuki families the same day.

In an exclusive meet with our correspondent, women folks at Nongpok Sekmai said that the dehumanizing act on the two women in the viral video is just a reaction, a revenge for the same crimes and atrocities committed to the Meiteis on 3rd May by the Kukis. Further, they said a report came on the beginning of the conflict that a Meitei lady was raped in Churachandpur in front of their parents and killed and the dehumanizing act on the two ladies in the viral video was a consequence of the atrocities the Kukis meted out to Meiteis.

The Women Folks furthered that it was they who came to the rescue of the two ladies from the mob of Meiteis in Nongpok Sekmai, gave clothes and saved their lives and handed over to security forces. Not only the two women, the ladies said they also saved three families including women and kids. The families they saved were the families of Thangboi and Joshep and three other women along with a kid.

However, the ladies said they, under any condition, did not accept the inhuman act on the ladies in the viral video and sought the stringent form of punishment by law. They are also happy that the police department has arrested six accused involved in the act.

But one shouldn't see the only one side of the story. Questioning on why PM Modi only spoke of that viral video while he missed to mention the root causes of the conflict, reports of rape, molest, killing, arson on the other community in war with the Kukis. PM Modi must also speak for Meitei women who have been raped, tortured, killed, burnt, and buried. All these need to be investigated and bring justice to all the victims on both sides.
