2207 Police Personnels Deployed for safe Agricultural Practices

State Police Force, under the guidance and instruction from the Chief Minister, deployed two thousand two hundred and seven security personnel for safe agricultural practices to seven districts in the state ahead of the growing season.

In a meeting with media persons on Saturday evening at the Police Headquarters Imphal, IK Muivah, IG Armed Police Operations), said that the police department has deployed security personnel for safe agricultural activities in the periphery areas of the state.

The officer also stated that since most of the security are engaged in places where the situation is still tense, the department has called upon several security personnels attached to VIPs to ensure protection of the farmers in different parts of the state adjoining hills.

As per report, 822 police personnel have been deployed for the said purpose for Imphal west, 236 for Bishnupur, 147 for Thoubal, 204 for Kakching, 300 for Churachandpur, 200 for Kangpokpi.

Further, the officer appealed to the farmers to contact SP of the concerned district before they go to the field for agriculture and its allied activities or they should inform their local leaders to speak to the SP and carry on their daily activities in presence of the security personnel. However, the farmers must not take risk by going all alone to the field, added the Officer.

While combined security forces conducted a massive joint combing operation in the vulnerable and fringe areas like Langza area hilltop near Khoijumantabi, Eastern and western ChingLangmei hill range in Churachandpur district, Ukha Tampak, Phuaisanthai, Moirang Turel Mapal Ward no. 9 and Phougakchao Ikhai Awang Leikai in Bishnupur district; Sokom village, Nazareth Village, Keiphom village, Sahumphai village, Khunbi Bazar areas in Kakching district on Saturday.

There is no case of arrest and recovery of arms & ammunitions in the search operation. It is reported that adequate measures are being undertaken during the conduct of combing operations to ensure that no inconvenience is caused to the local population.
