Five Myanmar Nationals, Including a Woman Arrested in Churachandpur
10th August 2022: Acting instantly to an intelligence input, a team of Churachandpur Police arrested five Myanmarese nationals, including a woman, at Ngathal Village, Churachandpur on Tuesday night.
The arrested persons couldn't produce any valid documents to justify their presence in Indian territory. And neither of them could speak English Manipuri or Hindi and later disclosed that they were all citizens of Myanmar, the police said.
The police team has registered a Sou Moto case under the Foreigners Act for further investigation against the illegal intruders.
Earlier also, the Churachandpur Police apprehended 80 Myanmar nationals, including 20 children and 35 women, from the Churachandpur district during a daylight operation.
