Tiddim Road Bandh: Police Fire Rounds of Tear Gas, Bandh Supporters Confronts Cops, One Cop Severely injured

HY News Moirang, September 05- JAC Against the missing of Achouba Buyamayum called Bandh from the midnight of September 4 demanding the justice of suspicious missing. Achouba is a mason from Kwakta Charangpat who recently went to Ukhrul for the construction of a Church. According to the source he was called to Ukhrul by the Pastor and the Village Chief to take his wage for the church construction and suspiciously went missing.
From early morning protesters blocked the traffic flow of 'Tiddim road at Kwakta Bazar, a team of Bishnupur District Police along with the Bishnupur Police Commandos tried to control the situation and a tussle occurred between the team and the protesters. Police and commandos fire several rounds of tear gas to control the situation and several were arrested, the police took control of the street and roads for some hours but numerous protesters came out at around 11:30 am and begin pelting stones at the police, and police fired several rounds of tear gas and smoke bomb to scattered the protesters but the situation worsened even after blank firing several rounds of the bullet. As the situation become more violent the team began to retreat from the area. After retreating the District Police team and commandos with the reinforcement are trying to control the situation. One Police reportedly got severely injured in his eyes by the stones pelted at them. He is undergoing treatment at District Hospital.
On the other hand, sources confirmed that a talk will soon be held between Moirang AC MLA Thongam Shanti accompanied by DC Bishnupur and SP Bishnupur with the JAC to agree on the matter.
