Absconding Hefzur Rahaman Arrested under Explosive Substances Act; Co-accused Surrenders

In a major development to the FIR no. 84(07)2022 KCG PS u/s 5-Explosive Substances Act, teams of Kakching Police arrested long absconding Md. Hefzur Rahman from Lilong on charge of transporting explosives yesterday. And the co-accused Md. Riyaj khan @uria also surrendered at Kakching Police station the same day at 4 pm.

Acting on a reliable source collected by Insp. Abash Khan, OC-CDO/KCG regarding one absconding individual in connection to FIR no. 84(07)2022 KCG PS u/s 5-Explosive Substance Act to have been hiding at Lilong Khongban area, teams of Kakching Police led by Insp. Abash Khan, OC-CDO/Kakching, and ASI Kh. Govinda of Kakching PS rushed to the area and arrested Md. Hefzur Rahman(28), s/o (L) Ajijur Rahaman of Moreh ward no 5, Muslim Basti, Tengnoupal from Lilong Khongban, Thoubal Dist from the residence of his relative.

A search was also conducted in Yairipok Changamdabi area in an attempt to arrest the co-accused. Later, the co-accused - Md Riyaj khan @ Uria(28 years) s/o Hefajuddin Moreh Ward no 5, Muslim Basti, Tengnoupal District, surrendered at the office of OC/CDO-Kakching.

It may be mentioned that on 04/07/2022, teams of CDO-Kakching led by Sub Ksh Prakash detected 14(fourteen) nos. of suspected TNT explosives along with 2(two) detonators from the Sora area during an operation. And the two individuals transporting the explosives had managed to escape taking advantage of the darkness and the terrain in an EECO van bearing Regn no. MNO6LB0750. However, following the seizure of the suspected TNT explosives and detonators, Kakching Police conducted searches at different locations in Moreh. And the vehicle involved was also seized from Moreh following a search operation.
