TG Students Union Demands Safe Handover Missing Teens to Family; To Launch Widespread Agitation on Failure

TG Students union has given an ultimatum to the concerned authority to trace the two missing Meitei teens and handover them to the family safely on or before 30th July 2023. In case of failure, the union said it would organize a state wide agitation in collaboration with other student organizations.

It's been 16 days, the Publicity Secretary of the Union said that a missing report was lodged at Lamphel Police station. Yet, there has been no clue of their whereabouts or even whether they are still alive or not. At this, the Students Union demanded immediate disclosure of the whereabouts of Hijam Luwangbi chanu who went missing since 6th July 2023.

Luwangbi is the daughter of Hijan Kulajit and H (o) Jayashree of Tera Tongbram leikai, a student of TG Higher secondary school. She went missing along with Phijam Hemanjit, S/O Ph. Ibungobi and Phijam (o) Memcha of Takyel Kolom Leikai, a student of Kindergarten School,Takyel.

According to sources, the two were last seen going together on a motorcycle from Keishampat at around 8:15 on the 6th of July. While a CCTV footage captured their last visual at Nambol.

As per police reports, the mobile phone of the girl was located last at Kwakta. A few days later, the handset used by the boy - Hemanjit is traced to be in used by a suspected Kuki at Lamdan in Churachandpur.
