Kukis to Pay the Price; To Rebuild a Liangmei Naga House they Burnt at a Cost of 20 Lakhs

As United Naga Council (UNC) has arrived at a final decision that the Kukis have to rebuild the house of a Liangmei Naga Family they set on fire at Chingmang Leimakhong on 18th June 2023.

As per UNC, the house would be built at a cost of Rupees 20 lakhs. Accordingly, all Kuki Zo within Kangpokpi district will contribute a sum of Rs. 100/- only per household and every village Chief will contribue Rs. 500- per head. The same shall be submitted to the Chairman/Secretary, COTO before 25th July, 2023.

On 18th June, the Kuki militants intentionally set the Liangmai Naga house at Chingmang area, Leimakhong even after they noticed the placard pasted on the gate as Liangmai Naga. Besides, the Kukis even dismantled another gate mentioned as Liangmai Naga in the Leimakhong area,” the two Liangmai bodies stated.
