Lecture on Impact of Extortion on Common Man for Local Residents of Village Kotle, Noney
Noney Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters 22 Sector Assam Rifles and Inspector General of Assam Rifles (East) organized a Lecture on “ Impact of Extortion on Common Man” for the local public of Company Area of Responsibility at Village Kotlen, Kangpokpi District, Manipur on 30 Nov 2022.
The lecture was organized to bring awareness amongst the local people against extortion activities in various forms present in our society. These illegal activities are rupturing the whole system of peace, law, and order in society, as a whole. Troops of Company Operating Base Kotlen also used this opportunity to interact with the local people to discourage illegal activities being carried out by many underground groups and their overground workers in the area and rather encourage peaceful co-existence and rapid development. It was conveyed that we can only fight against extortion if we accept it as a collective responsibility and report any kind of threat on priority to concerned authorities.
Participants understood and agreed that extortion activities are a curse to any civilized society and are carried out by those who want to earn easy money without doing hard work. The village authorities and local participants from AoR expressed their gratitude and appreciated the endeavor of the troops of Company Operating Base Kotlen for initiating such a motivational, encouraging, and informational lecture for the local people.
