Passing Of Numerous Vehicles Carrying Soil Makes Dustier Atmosphere In Langathel; seeks govt. attention: Local Club

For various brickfield at Khongjom area of Thoubal District, numerous soil carrying vehicles passed through Langathel carrying soil of paddy land and with their passing the atmosphere of Langathel is filled with dust causing many weak and children to suffer from various airborne disease.

Kangleipak Apunba Lamjing Lup Langathel and youths of Iron Team Langathel prohibiting the passing of earth carrying vehicles through Langathel drawed the attention of concern authorities and CM N. Biren on this matter.

Secretary of Kangleipak Apunba Lamjing Lup Langathel P. Lenil expressed that despite various measures to conserve paddy land of the state under Manipur Conservation of Paddy land and Wetland Act, 2014, paddy lands of Langathel which once have sufficient productivity is now exploited for soil by various brickfields and will not be fit for future cultivation, he persuaded to stop such activities as passing of various earth carrying vehicles through homesteads causes pollution causing many diseases to weak and children.

He continued that bottle gourd, pumpkin, watermelon etc. from the paddy land of Langathel is not only sold within the state but exported outside the state, unfortunately the field will not be production capable as before. He seeks attention of Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister on this matter and club members will take firm stand for the village and it's safety he added.
