ZSUM observed 10th Death Anniversary of former State Secy who was shot dead by NSCN-K

ZSUM Observed the 10th Death anniversary of Mr. Late. Chunthuigai Kamei, former State Secy. ZSUM, on 17th August 2022, at the memorial site, Duidaipanhou Makhuam (Marangjing) junction MH-37, Noney Dist.

The program was led by Mr. Jonah Thaimei, ZSUM Chairman.

The event began with a prayer by Gainimgong Gangmei Deacon Makhuam-3, followed by an introduction speech by ZSUM Chairman. Mr. Lankhuilung Kamei, Father of Late. Chunthuigai Kamei briefing the Childhood & Schooling life history of his departed son.

He mentioned the obedient nature of his son while growing up. Despite belonging to a humble background, his son always showed interest to serve for the down trodden people of Zeliangrong. He completed his master degree course in Param-pari University Delhi. When he came back from Delhi he attempted MSC Exam & success preliminary exam but unlucky he was unable to face the main exam due to his I'll health. Later he joined the Civil organisation of Zeliangrong and served as ZSUM State Secretary.

Namjaigai Pamei, Advisor ZSUM, also spoke on the occasion that, Mr. Late. Chunthuigai, was the man of action, he spoke less & worked more for the Zeliangrong Community & Naga in the larger.

During his tenure he was the person who struggles to bring peace & unity among Various Nagas UGs groups within the Zeliangrong region.

Under his good & able leadership he solved many boundaries disputes in Assam & Manipur between Zeliangrong & others communities. He was also fighting the oil exploration matter in Zeliangrong Region & successfully fought to complete the incomplete katang & Dikuram Bridge over Maguiki River between Manipur & Nagaland boundary. He further said that he did lots of work & brought changes for the Students' community of Zeliangrong but unfortunately he was shot dead by NSCN-K, at Kaimai Village, on 17th August 2012, this day.
