Village Authorities Pleaded to Complete Blacktopping of Road from Phundrei Junction to Lamlong Khullen
HY News, Tengnoupal, November 29- Lamlong Khullen Village Authority and Lamlong Christian Village Authority jointly held a press meeting at the Community Hall of Lamlong Christian Village, at the press meeting they draw the attention of the government to complete blacktopping of the road from Phundrei Junction of Thoubal District to Lamlong Khullen. Blacktopping of the road from Phundrei Junction to Lamlong Khullen which stretches around 6km under PMGSY has been left incomplete for a long period.
Speaking to the media Chairman of Lamlong Khullen DK. Modest expressed that the work order for blacktopping of a 6km stretch of road from Phundrei Junction to Lamlong Khullen was released in 2018 under PMGSY Scheme but the Contractor began the work in 2020, around 1.5km stretch of the road was blacktopped and the remaining 5km stretch was scattered pebble and stones and hasn't been blacktopped till today. Recently the team of the Contractor erased the signboard citing the beginning of work from 2018 and newly draw the signboard citing the beginning of work from 2022. He continued they condemned such inefficiency in working and pleaded with the government authority to complete the blacktopping of the road which is the lifeline of the village and also acknowledged that the part of the road which was scattered pebble and stone causes hindrance in their movement especially when healthcare emergency occurs. He pleaded with the competent authority to take action on the Contractor and blacktopped the road as soon as possible and also warned the authority that if the authorities don't adhere to their plea they will resort to various means of protests.
