Joint Operations in Kangpokpi and Noney recover significant arms and explosives

A combined team of Kangpokpi District Police and the 16 Assam Rifles conducted a search operation in the general area of Wakan ridges, under the jurisdiction of Saikul Police Station, Kangpokpi District. The operation led to the recovery of significant arms, ammunition, and explosives.
 
The items recovered include: one AK-56 rifle with magazine, one 9mm carbine with magazine, two 9mm pistols (country-made) with magazines, one 4mm pistol (Made in India), two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), one tear smoke shell (chilli), two 12 bore illumination rounds, one 2-inch mortar illumination bomb Mk-2/1 with bomb case, one 2-inch mortar smoke bomb Mk-2 with bomb case, one CMG bayonet and fourteen tube launchers 1A.
 
In a separate operation, a combined team of Noney District Police and the 6 Assam Rifles from Khongsang and Awangkhul posts conducted a search operation in the general area of Tamlok, under the jurisdiction of Noney Police Station on Saturday. The search led to the discovery of arms and ammunition buried along foot tracks at Tamlok village.
 
The recovered items include two Carbine Machine Guns with two magazines, two 9mm pistols with magazines, three .32mm pistols with magazines, one revolver, one Chinese hand grenade, one vintage grenade-based IED with IED-making materials, one detonator, six 9mm rounds, six .32 rounds and ine communication radio set.
 
These coordinated operations highlight the persistent efforts of security forces to combat illegal arms and ensure the safety of the region.
